“First I create the art, then I create the jewelry”
Primarily, I work with acrylic paint to produce artwork using the “Paint Pour” or “Fluid Art” method. I utilize a variety of techniques and choose complementary colors to bring to life unrepeatable compositions. I may create on canvas or make paint “skins”, which is a layer of pliable dried paint. “Skins” offer compositions which differ greatly from what can be created on a canvas.
I maintain a wide selection of settings, purchased from several wholesalers, to include earrings, necklaces, bracelets, hair clips, badge reels, keychains, and bookmarks. When a client asks for something specific, I go on the search to meet the need. Belt buckles, bolo ties, wine corks, and rings will be completed soon.
After creating the art and purchasing the settings, the next step in the creative process is to carefully select which art belongs in which setting. I take care to include interesting colors and compositions even in the tiniest of settings, and as an example, I will include “winter” colors with “winter” settings, or “beachy” compositions with “beachy” settings. I get a lot of joy when a client notices the effort put into this process and exclaims, “this looks like…” *
After the art has been bonded to the setting and the quality control process is completed, I package the items to be sold in vendor shows and stores.**
I offer a wide variety of colors, compositions and settings so that clients can select a one-of-a-kind piece they love! My current inventory boasts several hundred items to choose from. What can I say, I love what I do!
